LA21, a West Philadelphia based CDC and non-profit focused on supporting diverse communities of small business owners, today announced the launch of a one year  pilot program  designed to help all residents in Philadelphia interested in entrepreneurship to prepare to pursue their dream.

“We see a gap in services offered  to  aspiring  entrepreneurs. Many  people  who  dream  of business ownership aren’t ready to fit into existing training programs offered throughout the City, said Kwaku Boateng, Executive Director of LA21. We need to act now, to address both the services gap and the negative economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. We have accelerated our efforts and are thrilled to be working with Marci Smith Consulting on this endeavor.”

The pilot program is designed to help participants gain the skills, knowledge and personal insight needed to start a business, gain clarity on their idea, and become ready to participate in existing training  programs  focused  on  business  start-ups. The  pilot  is rooted  in  change  methodology, trauma  informed,  and  comprises workshops and individual  and  group  coaching.

The  virtual program begins with a required 90 minute introductory webinar and is free to participants.
